Helping people has always been at the forefront of the mission Mr. Como believes he was placed in. Middle income America has seemed to be left out of having a clear and concise game-plan to achieve what Mr. Como calls the American Dream. Mr. Como believes that, the American Dreams far surpasses having a home, a few kids, and a nice car.
The American Dream Mr. Como sees, is an American family that does not live under the crunch of credit card debt, unaffordable mortgages, no emergency funds, no educational funds, and little or no retirement funds outside of the job.
The American Dream Mr. Como is talking about, is not only educating families on how to get around the above snares that many families find themselves in, but actually realizing the achievement of family defined goals and living the Dream and becoming financially independent.
Garfield Como
Retirement Specialist
Garfield E. Como is a native Texan and has been in the money management business for well over 41 years. Mr. Como is a graduate of Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas. Mr. Como received his B.B.A. in Banking and Finance from the Texas Southern University School of Business. Mr. Como also did extra curriculum study at the American Bankers Institute. Upon graduation, Mr. Como was offered and accepted the position of management trainee, where he later became Vice President of lending. At the young age of 22, Mr. Como went into business from himself in the financial services industry and became very successful. For well over 44 years Mr. Como has been helping families get out of debt and amass financial independence.
Mr. Como is very family minded and community oriented. My. Como was the driving force behind the building of the YMCA facility in his community while he was Charmian of the YMCA Board of Managers in his community. He has, to his credit, many awards for community service and outstanding citizenship. Mr. Como was named neighbor of the year by the City of Houston for two years in a row. Mr. Como has not let his success in his business or his personal life dim his view for the needs of others. The clients taken under his wing have had great success over the years; and many have retires and are living their dreams of a successful retirement. Long term relationships and sticking to the mission is what has brought success to his clients, according to Mr. Como. The client and their successes are his primary objectives.
